Get Your Music Mojo On by playing Marches to Mozart

The band is a community organization with membership open to all ages.  The marching band plays traditional marches while the concert band plays a variety of music.  You do not have to be affiliated, nor have served, with any military branch to join.  You also do not have to be a member of the American Legion to be a member of the band.

If you are interested in joining the band as a musician, simply come to a rehearsal and try it out.  There are no auditions required.  The membership of the band consists of a wide range of players from beginners to professionals.  A few in the group have returned to playing after many years of their instruments being in a closet.

Regardless of your level of talent, the band is a supportive environment with many musicians willing to help you learn and improve.  Some percussion instruments are available such as kettle drums and larger, hard to transport types of items.  Music and uniforms are also supplied.

If you are apprehensive about just showing up, contact John O'Toole, Musical Director - 508-395-9789.

JOIN THE TROLLEY BAND
Not interested in marching to the beat, play in the Trolley Band, a small ensemble that performs marches in parades while riding on the  custom built, antique trolley.

VOLUNTEER

When the band marches in parades, we need help with transportation logistics, coordinating instruments and other items that provide comfort and support to the marchers.

The band needs a color guard and sign bearers at each and every parade.  These positions require you to actually be in the parade, rather than support on the sidelines.

Soliciting donations, coordinating grants, helping with promotion and marketing are all activities that need help and support - whether you can play an instrument or not.

Transportation to and from the parades, concerts and events is provided by the band’s own bus.

The band rehearses on Monday nights from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at the Waltham American Legion Post 156
